Psychiatric Care & Medications

The initial evaluation reviews current symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, prior treatment, medication response, side effects, sleep, functioning, and other factors relevant to understanding the clinical picture and developing treatment recommendations.

Medication management is a major part of care, but treatment begins with psychiatric assessment and diagnostic clarification. Medication decisions are considered within the broader clinical picture rather than in isolation.

The Minimum Effective Regimen is Harmonia’s approach to using a medication plan that adequately and safely treats the condition without making the regimen more complicated than clinically necessary. Some patients appropriately require more than one medication.

Appointments & Practice Policies

Follow-up frequency depends on the clinical situation, medication changes, treatment stability, and the type of medication being prescribed. Your recommended follow-up schedule will be discussed during care.

Please contact the office as early as possible if you need to change an appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to fees according to the practice’s scheduling policy.

Medication changes generally require clinical assessment. Depending on the situation, the practice may recommend scheduling an appointment before making a treatment change.

Controlled-medication prescriptions are managed according to practice policy and applicable prescribing requirements. Lost, misplaced, or otherwise unavailable controlled medications may not be eligible for early replacement.
